Carr finds road bumpy PDF Print E-mail

In his first start in Panther teal, David Carr finds the road filled with pot holes.

I’m not going to call out David Carr in this article. He looked decent in his first start as a Panther.
Carr went 19 for 41 for 155 yards, one TD and one pick. Those numbers are deceiving. Ask Drew Carter who dropped a sweet pass right in his hands that would have gone for 35 yards and a crucial third down.

Superman was off his game too as a beautiful 45 yard pass bounced off his chest that would have put the Cat’s in scoring position. I won’t go on, I think you get the idea. I could run this list with names like Colbert, King, Foster & Williams who let opportunities slip through their fingers.

I’m not going to talk about the lackluster play of Julius Peppers. The pitiful effort of the secondary, the linebacking corp or the   D – Line. It can be summed up in one word ‘uninspired’.

My game ball goes to Kris Jenkins. Last week Kris gave an interview to a reporter that hinted at the fact there were many players who were not giving 100 percent effort.

Sunday he didn’t hold back. He called out everyone on the squad by saying “  "It doesn't matter how many skills you have," he said. "It doesn't matter how good you look when you catch a pass or when you run the ball or when you tackle somebody or cover somebody. It's not going to matter if you don't have (heart and passion)."

There were a couple of bright spots. The defensive stand to prevent the Buc’s from going in on short yardage. Big number 99, Kemoeatu is a load to get through and was successful plugging the hole on fourth and goal. Jason Beason lead the team in tackles with eight and two assists.

At last we got to see Dwayne Jarrett, our SoCal rookie finally got some PT and got on the board with a catch.

We’re sitting at .500 with a 2-2 record heading into the Dome next Sunday to take on a Saints team coming off a Monday nite loss putting them at 0-3. They could be dangerous.
