(Charlotte) Matt Moore, the rookie QB out of Oregon State, steps in for Vinny to notch a 13-10 win for the Panthers at Bank of America stadium against the Seahawks
There wasn’t a lot a stake for the Panthers, except for pride. It wasn’t a big game for the Seahawks who came into Charlotte already the NFC West Division Champs. Pride was enough to motivate the Panthers. or maybe the precarious position of John Fox. After a scoreless 1st half, the ageless wonder, John Kasay kicked Field Goals of 53 and 37 yards. Josh Brown the Seahawks kicker was able to get the Birds on the board with a 23 yard Field Goal With a minute 17 left in the game and the Panthers clinging to a 6-3 lead, DeAngelo Williams blasted thru the line for a 35 yard TD to put the Panthers ahead. The other Matt came back with one tick left on the clock to hit Branch with the lone Seahawk TD. The Panther D was able to hold Alexander to a total of 17 rushing yards and allowed a team total of just 44. They carded 3 sacks of Hasselbeck who was held to just one passing TD to Branch. The Panther Defense looked stout, the kicking game solid and the tandem of Foster and Williams combined for 114 yards rushing. This week’s DC Panther Fans Game Ball goes to Matt Moore. With musical chairs at the QB spot and Matt coming in as the fourth starter of the season, Moore played a solid game. He was poised and confidant and he didn’t turn the ball over. He managed the game well and finished the day at 19 for 27 and 208 yards in the air. We may have gotten a look at our number 2 QB for the next season! Congratulations Matt Moore you’re this weeks winner of the DC Panther Fans Game Ball! |
