It has been quite some time since I (Keith) have had time to update site. But since we have such wonderful editors such as Cam and Mark there hasn't been the need! Thank you to both and also please welcome Jon to the DCPF family. Jon will be offering up his Game Ball each week after the game.
I finally found some time to do some past-due site fixes, tweaks and updates such as to the site layout. In retrospect, I wish I had used my own content management system instead of Joomla, which is a royal pain in the ass to modify. I also found time to write this, lost it after my session expired and re-wrote it. So, read on for more updates and my W(h)ine and Cheeser run-in. If you don't want to read more, I hope to see you on the 22nd!
You clicked over? You need help. If you are going to the game in Bawlmmer (or is it Bawlmir? And I thought the people in Charlotte talked funny). Anyway, if' you're going to the game and want to take a D.C. Panthers Fans banner, let me know and I will send you the PDF. They are $75 to be printed on vinyl in color at Kinkos. Get photos of it at the game and we'll put them on the site and I'll lobby for them to go up on Panthers.com! Honestly, I'm a little worried about Sunday's game in Bawlmer. Sure, Deshaun Foster is doing well this year but Deangleo Williams is down with an ankle sprain, Hoooover and Nick Goings are also questionable. I wonder if Eric Shelton got the call? Considering the way Jake ran at Tampa Bay maybe we should run him a little more. Oh - and Dan Morgan. When did he ever FINISH a season healthy? Like we didn't see that coming. The guy gets concussion when a weather front moves through. One more hit and he's going to be staring into space drooling. As many of you know, after I started the site and got everyone together my wife decided it was time to move back to N.C. We are now PSL owners and have been to every game so far this season. It helps that we live about 4 blocks from the stadium so if you need free parking on game days, e-mail me. So during the Saints game we were there and I was yelling myself hoarse as usual. During halftime, I felt this tapping on my shoulder. It was the person TWO ROWS - not one row - TWO FREAKIN' ROWS behind me who told me I needed to sit down during the game. I explained to him that my ticket allows me to stand as much as it allows him to sit. Disliking my response he called security on us who told him the same thing, so long we were not being obscene, abusive, drunken/disorderly or removing our clothes we could STAND AND CHEER (as the awful song says) as much as we want. As you would guess, being a true fan he left during the middle of the 3rd quarter. I hope he didn't spill his wine and cheese on the way out. Asshole. Typically, he was not present at the Browns game. The rain would have watered down his Merlot. I know my writing is not as good as others so if yours is better and you want to contribute to the site, let me know! The more the merrier! To everyone who comes to Kitty's: Thank you. Thank You. THANK YOU for making the D.C. Panthers Fans a success. I never imagined it would grow as it has. I look forward to joining you as we STAND AND CHEER for our Panthers as they take on Cincinnati on the 22nd! Keep Pounding, D.C.! --Keith |
