The Panthers meet that team from Dallas on Sunday night. Bill Parcells' head reportedly explodes before the game even starts.

So the so-called “America’s Team” is strolling into Charlotte this weekend? I think that if something tragic happened to the team then maybe we would embrace them as ours. But the only tragic thing that’s happened to them lately is a person: Terrell Owens. I mean for all the talk, what has he done? Nothing at all besides the three touchdowns against the Houston defense (which we all know is an oxymoron). Keyshawn has produced more and they let him go so he’s going to make sure Dallas regrets it tonight. Who would want to face a Panther defense that’s prime to rip somebody apart after a sub par showing the weekend before? Personally, if I were TO, I wouldn’t want a part of it. I mean he’d have to be suicidal if that were the case.

I love the sports commentators that I won’t name (initials TJ, MI, JM) who think Dallas is going to dominate this game. Um guys, their starting quarterback is Tony Romo. He wasn’t good enough to play I-A football in college and it also took Bill Parcells eight weeks to decide that Romo should get playing time instead of an over the hill Drew Bledsoe who was one more game ending interception away from Parcells going into the stands and killing a small child. But you guys get paid the big bucks to say smart stuff on television so you must be right.

It’s good to be back on the center stage for a night game. It only took the NFL until midway through the season to put us on. Thanks for the respect guys, we’ll keep plugging along into the playoffs every year until you start making us the feature attraction more often.

So for the last three years before the season starts, I write an email to the Panthers’ front office suggesting that for just one home night game, we should wear all black. I’m talking the black jerseys and custom black pants with blue trim. I think it would look sick and after all, we are the Panthers and those are all black cats. I’m not sure why the execs haven’t thought about this more but maybe we’ll get surprised tonight.

8 pm on NBC is where the carnage will take place. Make sure you find a tv somewhere and root for us to send the cowgirls home to their mamas.
