The Panthers rocked the Rams on Sunday. Marc Bulger tells Jason Campbell he's better off staying in the locker room this week.
Cameron Jones DCPanthersfans.com Marc Bulger? Paging Mr. Marc Bulger…your mouthpiece is still on the 50 yard line where you left it with your ego. That about sums up this past Sunday as the Panthers’ defense which had been criticized for underachievement this year made sure no one ever talks nonsense like that again by pasting anything in white that moved and securing a 15-0 win. In all, the defense totaled seven sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery, and a safety in a game where it looked like the Rams offense believed it to be opposite day and enjoyed going backward more often than forward. Bulger probably had nightmares about the color blue Sunday night. I hope he has a wife or girlfriend who was wearing that shade so that Monday morning he awoke and shrieked louder than that latte server in the new Peyton Manning commercial after the steam hit him in the face. Let’s track the status of QB’s that have faced the Panther defense so far: Chris Simms: Luckily for him, the spleen is not a vital organ. Steve McNair: He still has his spleen, but his brain took a joyride around his skull. Marc Bulger: Trying to get a patent on the impression his body made in the Bank of America stadium turf. In other words, please don’t talk trash about the defense here anymore. It’s not worth the health risk to the quarterbacks playing us the following week. All the credit in the world for last week’s win goes to this unit. The offense made some plays but was still sloppy. Note to offensive coordinator Dan Henning: There’s a reason both Chris Gamble and Keyshawn Johnson decided that quarterback was not in their futures. Please don’t ever call a pass play unless the guy throwing the ball has the last name Delhomme on his jersey. Interesting notes from this game: Julius Peppers had no sacks or tackles despite the defensive onslaught and DeAngelo Williams successfully filled in for an (SURPRISE!) injured DeShaun Foster. Here’s a final thought for the folks in charge: How about letting us wear our blue jerseys for the rest of the season? We seem to play best in them not to mention they look the best as well. Thanks. The big weekend is ahead of us. Our boys in blue are invading the DC area this week to take on what’s left of the football team they have here. I think I see Coach Gibbs’ philosophy of putting Jason Campbell in now. He knew he was facing two of the hardest hitting defenses in the league so he figured let’s see if Campbell gets hurt, then I can put Mark Brunell back in and no one would be able to argue with him. They don’t call him one of the greatest football minds for nothing. I’ll be at the game on Sunday heckling my roommate (Skins fan) and seeing how many fans there actually care enough to say anything derogatory anymore.
