(Charlotte NC) Steve Smith, Julius Peppers and Kris Jenkins will be saying ‘Aloha’ as they roll into Honolulu for the 2007 edition of the Pro Bowl from Aloha Stadium on Sunday February 10th
This will be a return visit to the ‘Big Island’ for each of these Big Carolina Cat’s.
Steve Smith, coming off a Triple Crown year in 2005, returns for the third time in his six-year career as the Panthers number one wide out. Despite missing the entire pre-season with a nagging hammy and the first two
regular season games, Southern Superman has managed to make the current NFC charts as the 3rd leading WR. He’s managed to haul in 76 passes for 1,081 yards and seven TD’s. Number 89 has averaged 14.2 yards per catch and a season long catch and run of 72 yards. But wait, there’s more
Steve know’s there’s two more games to go in the regular season so he’s not done yet. Who knows how the former Utah Ute and Cali native will finish the season. One thing we do know, he won’t be sharing PT with TO.
Once again the Southern Sack Master, Defensive End Julius Peppers will be lounging around the luau as he returns to the Pro Bowl for his 2nd time. Julius was a prime time player on the SportsCenter highlight reel as he lit up opposing QB’s for 11 sacks. With two remaining games, Julius will be looking to add to his 55 total tackles for the season and moving up from the 3rd spot on the NFC sack chart. Julius would need just 1.5 sacks to tie Aaron Kampman of the Packers.
Fear the turtle, Kris Jenkins makes his 2nd visit across the pond since 2003. Kris lead the Cardiac Cats D Lineman with 38 tackles in 14 games. This is a return to glory for the Maryland alum. Kris suffered a major shoulder injury
Midway through the 2004 season. After returning in 2005, once again the big Cat went down with a torn ACL and finished the season on IR. Way to battle back Kris, Panther fans salute you!
