It’s clear that Brett Basanez and Taye Biddle have a connection. After all the many three deep practices they were bound to have a play or two in their bag…the 85 yard strike was a nice one to pull out in the Meadowlands.
It’s a preseason game, right. It doesn’t really mean anything, wrong. Panther nation has been anxious to get a glimpse of what new OC, Jeff Davidson might have in store for the Panthers offense. I liked it, balance, yes run pass balance. My game ball is going to Taye, Biddle can take it to the bank. This offense showed me that DeShaun Foster will have an opportunity to show what he does best…read and react in the run. DeShaun has a tremendous amount of potential but was stymied in the Henning offense. David Carr, a previous number one pick; showed flashes of brilliance. Six for eight for 83 yards is not bad for a 1st start. It might be too early to get a clear read on the Defense. There was a lot of mixing and matching Saturday night in Jersey. The combo squad gave up 156 yards rushing. In a Fox defense which is known for stopping the run, not an impressive number. Jon Beason had 8 tackles to lead the D. In a preseason game you expect to see a good deal of PT from the two and three deep Squad. This go round there was a lot to be encouraged by. There were eleven different receivers in the mix and five different running backs. It would have been nice to see DeAngelo on the field. Yes, it was just a preseason game but it was a win and it was in NY…and that ain’t bad! |
